I am a maker. I come from a long line of makers. My father crafted boats, paddles, furniture, including beautiful burl tables, filled with gems and epoxy. He worked with my three brothers making decks, stairs, bedrooms and pools. They made many Adirondack chairs, ones that slide with ball bearings, and perfect holes for coffee cups. There wasn’t anything my dad couldn’t make. My mother made my pjs, my school uniform, she darned socks, hemmed pants and replace buttons. She made my sweet 16 dress, red with a plunging back. (pretty cool for a Catholic mother). She also made my graduation dress out of the same pattern, a beautiful green and pink satin material, I felt like a princess.

My sisters are quick, crocheting with very small needles making very large tablecloths. They sew shirts and dresses, patchwork quilts, they knit baby clothes and beautiful ponchos and blankets for each one of our graduates.

I DO NONE OF THOSE THINGS. LOL I am a maker of food. I have made over 30 f avours jam, Habanero with 24K Gold. Red green purple and yellow pepper jelly. I infuse honey with fresh garlic, habanero peppers, pink peppercorns vanilla bean and much much more. I make three types of fresh salsa, Roja, XSpicy and Salsa Verde and when I’m in the mood I make Mango Salsa.

I created endless flavours of fruit shrub, that makes sparkling beverages and when whisked with an high grade olive oil and grainy mustard makes a yummy salad dressings. When I order a cocktail in my favourite restaurant I go home and use those ingredients and create a jam. Margarita Greyhound, Sambooca, Martini, Mojio, Grand Marnier , chocolate and red wine just to name a few . PS the alcohol is burned out in the process.

I daydream of different combinations of herbs and spices to make a meal pop. I like spending my time sharing food ideas and recipes with like-minded people. I get excited when I find a new container, jar, or a teddy bear for my honey. I like to eat good food and drink red wine. I am ready to inspire and be inspired to be in my kitchen creating well balanced and flavourful meals.
